We decided we needed another short break before the year is out so I booked us a four night stay in an apartment overlooking the beach in Saltburn by the Sea. For our holiday, we had booked Mill House Cottage Annexe, an old converted watermill on the banks of Endrick Water, a river running through the hamlet of Garness, about 15 miles north of Glasgow and 10 miles or so from Balloch at the southern tip of Loch Lomond.
